I don’t only want to protect the Old Town from others anymore. I am in a strong team of people that only want the very best for our city. Matúš Vallo likes Bratislava and I like the Old Town. We can do it with Team Bratislava and Progresívne Slovensko.
You may have noticed that municipal and regional elections are coming. What you may not know is that if you are a permanent resident in Bratislava you can vote!
Our coalition Team Bratislava and Progresivne Slovensko has a strong team running to become deputies in the district council Stare Mesto (Old Town). Our candidate for the mayor of the city district Stare Mesto, Matej Vagac is supported by current Bratislava Mayor Matus Vallo with whom he has already been cooperating for a long time.
To vote – all you have to do is come to polls on October 29th. The location of the polling station will be announced to you in a letter (at your permanent address). Do not forget to bring your Permanent Residence Card with you so you can identify yourself.
At the polling station you will receive ballots with names of the candidates (each ballot is for different institution – council, district mayor, mayor, etc.). Our candidates have “Team Bratislava, Progresívne Slovensko” stated after the name, title, age, and occupation.
There is so much we would like to change and improve. These are our priorities:
The Old Town’s office will deal with your issues for you, not the other way around. We will create a spot of first contact that will provide you with consultations and counseling. Everyone will be able to check the progress of their request and the website will be clear and helpful.
Not only will we protect the trees from cutting but actively plant trees and search for modern solutions of their placement. We will face the climate crisis challenges and do everything for the Old Town to be the opposite of a hot concrete jungle.
We will support cultural and community projects. We will offer unused spaces to artists and return their past fame to libraries bz investing into people, spaces and events. We will finish the fight against visual smog, advertisements and join the city standard of public space adjustments MIB.
We will preserve and improve the Žilinská street market. We will reduce emissions and noise levels of problematic streets. We will support creation of new sport areas and dog parks. We will open the school sport yards for the public during weekends, holidays or other free time. Meals in school canteens, kindergartens or nursing homes will be healthy and tasty.
We will happily support any community activities or public initiatives. We will transform unused estates to community gardens. In the Old Town’s parks we will create areas for chess, pétanque and other cross-generation sport games.
The Communal organization of Bratislava city will take care of the Old Town’s cleanliness - the cleaning system will thus be more effective, we will save money and the public will know who is responsible for the state of the streets at all times. The Old Town will be clean for the residents, not only for the tourists. We will add more recycling trash cans and you will find the streets clean on state holidays and weekends too.
We will make the trip to school safer for our children. Every public space will have a barrier-free entrance. We will improve the quality of social services institutions. We will actively offer and communicate the S.O.S bracelet service for disabled and senior residents. We will find out in which places the residents do not feel safe and help the magistrate deal with problematic locations with lights, police patrols and cameras.
We will protect the heart and character of our Old Town. We will not tear historical spaces down, but reconstruct, fix and open them to the public. The Old Town will not only be a beautiful destination but a better place for everyday life as well.
